Detailed day by day 8 Days Kenya Big Five Adventure Safari itinerary
Day 01: Arrival
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to start your 8 Days Kenya Big Five Adventure Safari, your driver guide will meet you and welcome you to Kenya with a big smile on his face.
Your safari guide will then transfer you to your booked hotel in Nairobi where you will spend the rest of your evening relaxing from a long flight. Pend a night at your hotel in Nairobi.

Day 02: Visit Ol’ Pejeta Conservancy
Following breakfast at your hotel, you will depart and drive for about three to four hours to Ol’ Pejeta Conservancy, a heaven on earth for rhino lovers. Ol’ Pejeta boasts an impressive population of rhinoceros, about 140 black rhinos can be found in the Conservancy.
The Black rhinos are a critically endangered species. The Ol’ Pejeta Conservancy is one of the best places to spot the Back rhinos. Rhinos are members of the African Big Five Animals and for big game lovers, your 8 Days Kenya Big Five Adventure safari can’t be complete without sighting these magnificent creatures.
Ol’ Pejeta Conservation has seen a steady increase in the rhino population from 20 in 1995 to a population of 140 today. If lucky enough you might also spot the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world and 39 southern white rhinos on your Kenya big five adventure safari.
There are also a number of rescued chimpanzees in the conservancy and many other wildlife species that you will enjoy watching. After your remarkable adventure, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03: Visit the Solio Game Reserve
After an early morning breakfast, you will depart your lodge and drive to the Solio Game Reserve. The Solio Game Reserve is a privately owned sanctuary dedicated to rhino conservation. This reserve is located in the valley between the high slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, north of Nairobi. During this 8 days Kenya Big Five safari, the Solio Reserve will give you a chance to spot the endangered rhinoceros with upto 200 rhinos located here.
Besides rhinos, you will also enjoy sighting various wildlife species that live here like buffalos, zebras, giraffes, elands, oryxes, impalas, waterbucks, Thompson’s gazelles, and warthogs. Expect to spot up to 40 rhinos at the same time! After your adventure, you will drive to your lodge.

Day 04: Lake Nakuru National Park
Today you will visit the popular Lake Nakuru National Park for adrenaline-pumping sightseeing experiences. Following breakfast, you will embark on a three-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley, giving you the opportunity to witness the charming landscapes, and a glimmering lake in between the hills.
Arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch and check in your hotel. Have lunch and a short relaxation before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the park. Although Lake Nakuru is famous for its unrivaled bird watching in Kenya, the National Park is home to four of the Five African Big Five Animals Making it a great place to witness Africa’s most thought-after wildlife species.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its population of black and white rhinos (introduced in the 1990s), giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 400 different bird species. The most easy to spot of the Big Four here is the white rhino, especially on the edge of the lake – a unique sight! After your Adventure, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha National Park & Crescent Island
After Breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. The enchanting Lake Naivasha is situated in the Kenyan Rift Valley at an elevation of 1,884 meters, making it the highest lake within the Great Rift Valley. It takes about four to five hours to drive from Masai Mara National Reserve to reach this 139 square kilometer freshwater lake.
Between 1937 and 1950, Lake Naivasha served as a landing spot for Imperial Airways planes flying from Durban to Dublin, which at the time was a journey spanning several days. Nowadays, the lake is a popular day trip destination for Nairobi residents due to its proximity to the capital.
Nestled amidst swamps, forests, and rock formations, Lake Naivasha provides an ideal setting for a captivating boat safari, offering opportunities to observe groups of hippos and flamingos. Along the shores, visitors may also spot zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes. Additionally, a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, often referred to as the ‘hidden gem of Naivasha,’ provides an immersive experience, allowing visitors to walk among the wildlife. Notably, the island served as the primary filming location for the 1985 romantic drama ‘Out of Africa,’ adding to its allure.

Day 6: Afternoon safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara National Reserve. You will drive through Kenya’s Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey is about four hours although all through the way, you will enjoy the beautiful countryside and landscapes that prepare you for the jaw-dropping sensation when you arrive on the amazingly beautiful savannah plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch. You will check in at your lodge and have lunch and a short relaxation.
After lunch, you will get your first impression of these plains with its abundance of wildlife during your Afternoon Game drive in Masai Mara. Masai Mara is best known for its abundant wildlife and natural spectacle, Wildebeest Migration. You will explore the Mara plains during this evening game drive – expect to witness some amazing wildlife including lions, hyenas, leopards, wildebeest, gazelles, zebras, and elephants among others.
After your evening adventure, you will drive back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Full day safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
Today on this 8 Days Kenya Big Five Adventure Safari, you will enjoy a full day game drive exploring the Mara. After Breakfast, depart your lodge with lunch boxes and head out for a full day Game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Masai Mara National Reserve is known for its abundance of wildlife, and today you have a full day to try and see it all on your safari. Up to 95 animal species and over 400 species of birds live within the reserve boundaries. Exploring the Mara from mid September to mid October also allows for spectacular sighting of the annual Wildebeest Migration.  You will witness huge herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes and impalas as they try to cross the Mara River.
You will also spot the Big Five in the Masai Mara, as well as cheetahs, servals, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, black-backed or side-striped jackals, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, warthogs, topis, elands, waterbucks, oribis, reed-bucks and many, many more. In the evening, you will drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Departure
Wake up lazily and have breakfast at your lodge before you embark on a transfer to Nairobi. Take in the beauty of the Masai Mara one last time, before you start your six-hour drive back to Nairobi. Your lunch will be en route. You will later arrive in Nairobi and dropped off at your preferred drop off point.
