Amboseli National Park – The Kilimanjaro Royal Court

Amboseli National Park is crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Embark on the 4-5 hour drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park depending on traffic, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch and a leisurely early afternoon, we proceed for a game drive. Viewing wildlife against the backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain on our planet and Africa’s highest peak, makes Amboseli a real spectacle. Keep your eyes open and a camera ready for shots of large herds of elephants and plain’s game, giraffes, gazelles, lions and leopards, among others roaming the plains.

Don’t miss the golden hour, sunset with Kilimanjaro view. Find a scenic spot to watch the sunset with Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance, a sight that’s especially captivating during the golden hour. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2; Amboseli – Game drive-Departure

After breakfast, we shall embark on a morning game drive to catch more wildlife activity and enjoy the beautiful morning light because this is a great time to observe predators on the move and see birds in action. The park is known to the world allover as one of the best places to get up close to free-ranging elephants, expect to see these magnificent animals, as well as Cape buffalo, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest and impala, among others.

Visit Observation hill; after your game drive, you will visit Observation hill for stunning

panoramic views of the park and chance to see large herds of elephants and other wildlife from above. Lunch and relaxation at the accommodation facility perhaps by the pool or in the peaceful surroundings and after depart from Amboseli for the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the city in the evening.
